Stir Fry was released in 2012 the same time as Acquisotic II. It is a compilation of most of the Collaborations that I had recorded from 2001 to about 2010.

Nobody Notices My Life

I was in a bad called Twelve Two I believe. The song was written musically by Ricky Venture, Lyrics and Melody by Brent Bennet. I played bass and did all the recording and production on the song. Not much to say there. It was one of two songs recorded with that band. I thought the recording turned out quite well actually given that I set up 2480 recording in our tiny soundproof practice room and recorded it right there! I later mixed it down at the my Issaquah Studio.

Groovy Jeans

This was one the songs that Brent came into the studio with a Karma groove, the melody and lyrics. I bought a Karma for the studio so I could reproduce the groove and then I recorded it and him. I did all the overdubs, the guitar work and some work in organizing the structure.

Slow Hand

I liked this song but I actually complained about the title but it stuck so I kept it. It was another Brent and Karma song. I did a LOT more this particular tune. It’s got a lot of guitar work and has any airy sound to it. I also added some thick drums to it. The ending was just a meandering section with some vocal phrases and lots of heavy guitar sound. I eventually faded it out really early (it went on for a while).

Whole Lotta Wrong

This is my West Coast Swing blues song. A very straightforward blues tune with lots of nice breaks in it. I played all parts including the harmonica. I wrote this about 2006 or 07. The drum track was particularly nice, especially on the ending. It was all hand scored. All guitars were live. It used an acoustic that the neck got broke on but it worked fine for the recording (before the accident). You can hear a later mix of this which includes me (Bruce) on vocals and background vocals. That was released on Miles Of Smiles.

Higher Plane

Higher Plane is another song from Brent and his Karma. Like Slow Hand it went through a lot of production. I rather like this one. It has a strange change in the middle where Brent speaks in Tongues. The guitar uses lots of pull offs.

What Yo Mama Said

This is my baby (Bruce) with Brent singing and his lyrics. I created the entire song on the Yamaha RS 7000 then played that back to my recorder in 8 tracks. I then went in and added parts and produced it. It’s got some fun breaks in it.

Cirrus ((Rainmaker)

This song was written by me on guitars with Brent doing the melody and vocal vamps. The song was just a rough take it was going to be a really cool produced song but I never got around to it and Brent got married and disappeared. I had to splice it to clean it up enough to release it and I really want to keep a copy for the future.

My Baby’s Asleep

Another Brent and his Karma song. Similar to Groovy Jeans. Recorded in Issaquah with me adding parts, guitars and production. This was one of the last songs we did together.

FWED

Fresh Water Every Day is just a vocal speaking ditty from Brent. It was representative of that era so I thought it fitting to include it. It’s about his daughters hamster (and a statement about the world).

Nothings Ever The Same

Another Twelve Two song. Same Credits. Same recording session about 2002.

High On The Hill

All me with Brent singing my lyrics and melody. This started out like “That’s how dreams go”. It was a guitar jam and then I wrote these lyrics thinking about my special place on the hill that I go when I want to relax. I sang the original but didn’t quite like the final result but though the melody and lyrics were perfect. So I gave it to Brent to sing and he following it fantastically. I may release this with my new vocal later.

The Ultimate Truth

This song is “Edge Of Your World” before it was deeply produce. Brent took a stab at singing it using my Melody. It took forever to produce this song and it has a unique cadence. It was written at the events of 911 so it must have been about 2002.

Horizons (If I Could Fly)

This song was written by me on guitars with Brent doing the melody and vocal vamps. The song was just a another guitar ditty and was going to be a song. I went back in during 2012 and produced it, cutting it, adding a bunch of background vocals, fretless bass and more. If I could fly was Brents name for it.

Cool Things About Her

Paul Harrington wrote this song and I recorded it in my Issaquah Studio. I liked what he did and in 2012 came back and added the effects and String Ensemble. Nice little tune.

The Only One For Me

This was the result of a lot of experimentation with the RS 7000. There are many versions of this but this is the only one that has been released. I’d guess it was written in 2003.

Crazy Days

The flagship song from the original AUDIOGRILL release. The song is all Bruce except for the main vocals are Brent and the “Inflatable women” lyrics were Brents. Completely produced.
