Love Space was a strong release with some nicely updated and new songs.

It included songs from the “Golden Relics” EP with some remix to some of them.

I Can Do For You (Life Line)

This song was written in my sadness for a friend of mine who’s special person passed away. I wanted to reach out and share my feeling of “I wish it could have been different, I wish I could have helped” theme. I tried to keep this one upbeat even through the topic was really sad.

Without Words

This is the extended version with a groove fade ending. The song was written originally by me in 1973 and was one that I used to practice harmonies with, with a friend named Bob (whose name I no longer remember). It’s a simple love song. This version is extended over the original song and includes a guitar solo. The basic chord pattern is the same but the guitar bridge has a new pattern.

See The Sunshine

This wonderful song started it’s life as a 1:30 second quick ditty. It was very much a “How are you going to see the sunshine without me” song and sung in barber shop quartet form. However, the remake, which also has a self produced video, was completely redone, chorus added and outro added so it turned into a much more well developed song. The entire theme of the song changed also, it became one of SEE THE SUNSHINE (Feel the rain) so the idea is that embrace life even when some things aren’t so great. A common theme for me. The video includes some still shots of Stephane and my brother Eric.

Stuck In My Heart (It’s Not Learning)

This is a remix, partial re-record of a song released on the first vocal CD called “That’s How Dreams Go”. I always wanted to “up the bar” with this song so I strengthened many parts of it, including the drums and redid just a bit of the vocal. It turned out great.

Forgive Me Too

This song was the first revision of a song that has been redone and will be released on the “Cornucopia” CD due out in 2021 or early 2022. It’s a song about a young relationship that went south and year later I want to express my regret and desire to make amends (on both sides!). The person that this is written about may not be on this planet anymore, I don’t know, but the theme of the song holds true. It was original written as an acoustic song and it remained mostly that but stood up to some embellishment and drums. The final lead guitar part never made it into the 2nd upcoming release of this the song. It was removed to keep the song consistent and not just have some random wa wa part in it.

Try Try Try (Try Try Tried)

The original version of this was released on the “Golden Relics” digital album. An excellent song that wasn’t finished until 2012 but was written years before. It has a very strong Beatles & George Martin influence. The version on this release has been remixed with parts added. It was original recorded on my VS 2480 hard disk recorder. The guitar solo was designed to be reminiscent of early Beatles solo work by George Harrision. The harmonies have a lot of Beatle influence. The gist of the song is the similar to that’s Who Dreams Go in that you try things, they may fail, but you just keep trying. Maybe someday you realize some things will never work out the way you want them to.

Not Quite The Same

This was also on the Golden Relics release and was re-released without any major change baring a very minor remaster. It’s a song about how things constantly change. The world, my body, my mind. It was written in Washington State when I was alone and getting ready to sell my first home that I had worked so hard on. The area it was in had changed SO much. The original start of this song is it started from a piano riff that I had written when I was about 16 years old, and part of what was submitted to Muscle Shoals Studio in South East United States and was just ignored at the time. This version is significantly different and even includes a rather jazzy guitar lead in an otherwise rather sad song.

Room With A View

This song is one of my favorites. It was written in my apartment in Santa Barbara when Stephanie and I first moved into it and FINALLY restarted my studio. All the gear came out of storage. The song went through a LOT of revisions and the intro was always in flux. I was feeling a lot of Nostalgia at the time and I liked the idea of a classic music styled beginning and tried to keep that intact. The final Tally ally ally ho was inspired by Stephanie and in my mind was originally a little U2 ish. I spent a very long time writing and producing this song but it turned out great. It was produced about the same time “I Can Do For You” which used to be “Life Line”.
